Off-white strip of paper with dark horizontal tape marks to top and bottom edges, the signature written in blue ballpoint pen reads Best of Luck Nelson / (Shoeless) Joe Jackson / 4-2-51 stored in hard plastic sleeve with taped opening, off-white signature paper taped to white cardstock mounted on black cardstock.
With January 22nd, 2020 JSA James Spence authentication, certification number BB36986.
Approximate dimensions signed cut only: 3 5/8 wide x 1 1/2 high..
Condition: Cut paper with some aging and aforementioned tape marks. Currently taped over. The signature is clear and fresh looking given the age.
Shoeless Joe Jackson was anecdotally illiterate, and would reportedly often have his wife Kate sign for him. This is one of those examples, and was signed in the last year of Mr. Jacksons life.
