Carved in high relief, depicting two elderly scholars, one is walking beneath a shady pine tree towards a bridge with a tranquil river flowing below, the other meditates above a jagged rock formation, encircled by trees, the reverse is incised with large rock formations and a forest landscape, the carving has hints of lavender and green hues and russet inclusions throughout, including a carved wooden stand.
Approximate dimensions: 10 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches (26.6 x 27.3 cm) without stand.
