Ink and color on silk, framed and glazed, one featuring an emperor wearing a red-ground court robe decorated with a rank badge, the other featuring a royal lady wearing a phoenix headdress with dangling pearls, a court necklace and a red dragon robe bearing a rank badge. The two figures are both seated atop a traditional horseshoe back chair covered with a lime-green brocade with floral scroll patterns and set over a carpet with a lotus-and-swirling-cloud pattern.
Frame size: 28 1/2 x 17 5/8 inches (72.3 x 44.7 cm).
