The dish has deep flaring sides that rest on a recessed foot. The interior is beautifully carved with a flying phoenix surrounded by leafy floral scroll motifs. The base of the dish bears an inscription, and the rim is bound in a metal band. The dish is covered overall with a lustrous ivory white glaze.
