Seated Woman with Apples,
oil on canvas, lined,
(approximate dimensions - sight: 29 x 29 inches, canvas: 29-3/4 x 29-1/2 inches),
signed lower left.
Condition: Canvas lined on new stretcher bars, slight abrasions, craquelure, and surface dust, no visible inpaint under UV/Blacklight minor dirt pockets and keys verso.
Notes: This lot included the artists bio and a photo of the painting. Frame has light wear, approximate dimensions - 35-3/8 x 35-3/8 inches. Bio: Trained at the Detroit Fine Arts Academy, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1893, he moves to Paris and studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts under Jean-Leon Gerome. He returned to the US when German troops invaded France. His work was part of a group of paintings by American artists brought to San Francisco on the Navy Ship USS Jason to be exhibited at the Panama-Pacific Exhibition.
