Attributed to Boston and Sandwich, New England Glass and of Stiegel-type, probably Pennsylvania.
Circa 1830 - 1860.
Five of pressed glass, including an EE-1a eagle, an EE-7, molded in the form of a Classical sofa, and with spread wing eagle to long sides an EE-8a eagle and ship round example, an OL-17A diamond star and scroll, an NE-4 and an NE-6 in pale green, and a Stiegel-type diamond footed master salt.
Open pontil scar to underside of the Stiegel-type salt.
Approximate dimensions: 3 H., the Stiegel-type example, the EE-7 2 3/8 H. x 3 3/4 W. x 2 3/4 D..
Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco.
Condition: Three of the salts with chips to rims, and the pontil polished and partly broken off. Minor rough surfaces and the green example with cracks from the mold transferred to the interior surface.
