Paul Storr sterling armorial cover and serving dish, plated insert with Matthew Boulton stand the cover with chased acanthus leaf removable handle terminating in lion heads on open acanthus base with gadrooned edge, armorial crest to both sides with castle walls and circular wreath within scrolled foliate and rocaille border the stand with acanthus and shell motifs, paw feet.
The cover with P.S, lion passant, Q acanthus handle base with P.S, lion passant, crowned leopard, 4, and 793 the handle with 793 cover with 4 beneath acanthus handle base and 593 to the interior the dish with P.S, lion passant, crowned leopard head, Q, King George profile the stand with Boulton twin sun mark to the underside.
Approximate dimensions: 9 1/2 high x 14 1/2 wide x 9 1/4 deep. Approximate weighable silver: 2,244 grams..

Given the date of hallmarking of this entre dish it was most probably in the possession of Thomas Bridge (baptised 12th February 1792 died 8th August 1859), of Monte Video House, West Chickerell, near Weymouth in the County of Dorset. A landed proprietor he was the son of Robert and Ann Bridge, of Piddletrenthide in the same county. father, Robert was styled of Puddletrenthide (also spelt today as
Piddletrenthide ) and Isle of Purbeck, Co. Dorset and Andover, Co. Hampshire. 2 At the Parish Church of St Basil, Wynford Eagle, Co. Dorset. Her parents were John and Ann Bridge.2
the Parish Church of All Saints, Tarrant Monckton in the aforesaid county on the 20th May 1820. Thomas undoubtedly had common kinship with John Bridge (born 21st January 1755
died April 1834), the co-founder of Rundell Bridge Rundell, of London, silversmiths, and retailers to the Royal Family (as the Crown Jewellers) and the upper echelons of British society as they both descend from the Bridge family of Piddletrenthide in the aforesaid county.
