Aristophanes Lysistrata, in two versions. The first, an Easton Press edition by Gilbert Seldes, introduction by Seldes and Illustrations by Pablo Picasso. The second, by Jack Lindsay with illustrations by Norman Lindsay, published by FanFrolico Press, London.
First example, reissued 1983, The Easton Press, Norwalk, Connecticut, in red leather with gilt tooling. The second one from a limited edition of 725 copies, of which this is copy 114, sent overseas, signed Jack Lindsay. Blue leather binding and edges.
Approximate dimensions: 15 1/2 H. x 11 1/2 W. x 1 D. and 11 H. x 9 W. x 1 D..
Condition: The Easton example in very good condition, with minimal wear and scratching, most notable to corners. The Lindsay with wear to binding top and bottom of spine, and more significantly to tips of edges, top and bottom. 1/3 loss to leather, back, a few inches up from edge, from a deep scratch.
