bronze on marble base,
(approximate dimensions - overall: 40-5/8 H x 24 W x 12 D inches),
signed and numbered 15/20 at the bottom titled and named on plaque.
Provenance: Glenshaw Estate.
Condition: Surface dust/dirt, minor handling wear, no signs of repair under UV light.
Bio: A native of Sweden, the artist is well recognized as one of the worlds foremost wildlife sculptors. He studied at The Swedish University College of art in Stockholm and worked in museums in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Africa and Denver, CO. After living in Bostwana, Africa for seven years he now resides in the US. The artist has been honored with many prestigious awards from his peers. In 1990 he was elected as a full Academician (NA) by his peers, the first honored since John James Audubon to receive one of the greatest tributes in American art. Best known for his monumental works executed for museums and municipalities across the globe, his Ft. Lauderdale and Omaha installations are the largest bronze wildlife compositions ever made - spanning several city blocks. Both earned him the Henry Hering Medal Award from the National Sculpture Society in NY.
