Condition: Sheets toned one shows foxing overall, in good condition.
Notes: Both are matted, approximate dimensions - matted (each): 7-1/2 x 9-1/2 inches. Bio: Born in Texas, the artist moved to NY to study under William Merritt Chase James Carroll Beckwith, and then to Paris where he painted both landscapes and genre subjects. He was awarded Frances Legion of Honor in 1905. Due to the outbreak of war he returned to the US and settled in La Crescenta, CA where he produced paintings of California coastal views. He also produced portraits of noted persons including Woodrow Wilson, which now hangs in The White House in Washington, DC. His work can also be found in the collection of The Smithsonian American Art Museum, among others.
